1. About us
Mother of Drones is a nonprofit community for women and nonbinary people of all ages to learn about, build, and develop drones and autonomous systems.
Founded in 2025, based in Sweden, we plan to expand our activities across the Nordic region throughout 2026. 15 learning sessions 2025.
Why?
The pool of exceptional people is often larger than the pool of people we think to include. Consequences of poor equality in society, including in armed forces in countries such as Sweden, have resulted in a large group of potential contributors being unutilized—two gender groups, now aged ca. 25-65+ years old, currently well-educated, and with work experience.
This community is a concrete action to recognize this massive potential. We help grow members' competence in drones and autonomous systems, and at a scale.
How it works?
All sessions are held at members' kitchen tables. Information with addresses and contact details is communicated in closed, encrypted groups. No costs involved. Warm meals are provided at each session, and lunch boxes are available to bring for the next day, as many as needed. There is no maximum number of sessions that can be attended. Citizenship of a NATO country or Ukraine is mandatory.
Goal?
Mother of Drones aims to be a forum for knowledge of warfare tactics and civil preparedness, educating and creating ideas and capability. Our goal is to form a community equivalent to a brigade as a first milestone.
